For its part, Hezbollah issued several statements in which it claims to have targeted the settlements of “Eilat Hashahar,” “Sha'al,” “Hatsor” and “Dalton,” as well as “the air surveillance unit at the Meron base with a rocket barrage last night.”

Meanwhile, the Israeli army announced that their air force jets “have struck and killed Abu Ali Rida, the Hezbollah commander of the Baraachit area in southern Lebanon”, adding that he was “responsible for planning and carrying out rocket and anti-tank missile attacks on Israeli troops.”

Israeli Media also reported that a barrage of more than 60 rockets had been fired from Lebanon towards the Galilee on Monday morning, adding that over 120,000 Israelis were seeking shelter due to missile alerts. Media also reported  the interception of two drones that entered Israeli airspace, one from the east and one from Lebanon. The drones were shot down over the Golan Heights and the Upper Galilee.

In eastern Lebanon, more than 70% of the residents of the city of Baalbeck have fled over the past few days due to Israeli shelling and evacuation orders, according to a report by the National News Agency.

The agency reported that Israeli shelling targeted the city and its surroundings, areas near the Baalbeck Citadel and other archaeological sites, as well as hospitals, schools, institutes and tourist facilities.
