Al-Hassan: BIA Plan Ready
The Director General of Civil Aviation, Fadi al-Hassan, asserted the readiness of the emergency plan for Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport (BIA) in the event of an attack.

The plan will be implemented immediately, along with the appropriate procedures. He also assured that employees are fully aware of all instructions for urgent action in the event of a deteriorating situation.

Speaking in an interview with the MTV television channel, he emphasized that he is continuously coordinating with the persons dealing with the procedure to be followed to avoid any cyber-violation at the airport in light of Israeli threats against Lebanon.

Additionally, Hassan revealed that 90% of airlines are maintaining their flights to Lebanon, but only during the day, noting that “Air France and Transavia have resumed their flights to Beirut since Thursday.”

“The flow of arrivals has decreased to 7,000 people a day, and that of departures has fallen back to 12,000 after reaching 15,000 in recent weeks”, he affirmed.

Finally, Hassan reiterated that the airport is operating normally 24 hours a day, emphasizing its readiness to face any circumstance.
