The Israeli army claimed responsibility on Tuesday for two airstrikes targeting Hula and the area around the Shqif Citadel in South Lebanon, announcing the killing of two Hezbollah members.

The Israeli army’s spokesperson, Avichay Adraee, stated on his X account that “a drone targeted (Tuesday afternoon) a Hezbollah member in the area of the Shqif Citadel, in South Lebanon.”

According to him, the fighter was operating at a site “previously targeted by the Israeli army last week, and which was used for managing Hezbollah’s fire and defense systems.”

“The reconstruction and continued use of this site constitute a blatant violation of the agreements between Israel and Lebanon,” he added.

“Another drone also targeted a Hezbollah member today in the Hula area,” he concluded.

In addition, a drone targeted a drilling rig in the town of Jwayya with several guided missiles, causing damage to equipment and machinery used for drilling and crushing operations.

In a related development, an Israeli military patrol advanced toward the Majidiye plain, in proximity to a Lebanese Army post, raising tensions along the border.
