The Iranian embassy in Beirut opened its doors at 8:30 AM on Friday for Iranian citizens in Lebanon to cast their votes in the presidential election.
The four candidates competing for the position, which was left vacant after the death of Ebrahim Raisi in a helicopter crash last month, are Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, Saeed Jalili, Massoud Pezeshkian and Mostafa Pourmohammadi.
The embassy also opened two other voting centers in Nabatiyeh and Baalbeck.
All Iranians who have reached the age of 18 can participate in these elections by presenting their Iranian ID or passport. The voting process continues until 6:00 PM.
It was reported that the number of eligible Iranian voters in Lebanon exceeds 130. Internal Security Forces took security measures around polling centers in coordination with security personnel from the Iranian embassy to ensure the safety of the elections and the voters.
In Iran, about 57,000 polling stations opened their doors to more than 61 million eligible voters to choose a president from among the four candidates. There is a total of 61,452,321 eligible voters inside Iran and abroad.
