As the influx of illegal migrants to Cyprus from the Lebanese shores reached record highs, Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides arrived in Beirut on Monday morning to address this thorny issue with caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati during a meeting at the Grand Serail, which was also attended by the Commander in Chief of the Army, General Joseph Aoun.
From the Grand Serail, Mr Christodoulides and the accompanying delegation headed for Aïn el-Tiné, where they were to be received by the head of Parliament, Nabih Berry.
The Cypriot delegation also included Minister of Foreign Affairs Konstantinos Kombos, as well as Minister of Interior Konstantinos Ioannou.
