Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati received an invitation from the King of Bahrain, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, to attend the 33rd Arab League summit, set to take place on Thursday, May 16, 2024 in Manama.
During a meeting on Wednesday, Mikati welcomed Bahraini Ambassador to Syria Waheed Mubarak, delegated by the ruler of the island-state to deliver the invitation
In the message, the King expressed the desire to "strengthen joint Arab efforts to serve the interests of the Arab nation."
The King also emphasized the "importance of Mikati's personal presence to address the significant challenges facing the Arab world," in reference to Hezbollah's involvement in the Gaza war against Israel in southern Lebanon.
