Traffic at Beirut International Airport (BIA) recorded an increase in passenger numbers in February, but a fall in the number of flights.
According to figures released by the airport, 413,111 departing and arriving passengers passed through the airport, an increase of 1% compared to February 2023.
The number of arrivals in Lebanon rose by 2.57% to 204,128 passengers. The number of departures from Lebanon decreased by 0.27% (208,786 passengers), while the number of transit passengers fell by 55% (97 passengers).
Meanwhile, the number of flights operated by domestic, Arab and foreign airlines using the airport in February was down 9% compared to February 2023, reaching 3,373 flights, of which 1,684 (-9%) were inbound and 1,689 (-9%) outbound.
