Army Commander-in-Chief General Joseph Aoun and German Ambassador to Lebanon Kurt Georg Stoeckl-Stillfried signed an agreement on Wednesday under which German authorities are to offer a donation worth two million euros to support the army, one million of which would be allocated to fuel and the other to the medical needs of army personnel. It should be noted that a similar donation had been previously granted.
Expressing his gratitude to the German authorities for their support of the military institution, General Aoun deemed this aid "extremely important in view of the current exceptional circumstances." The German Ambassador stressed that his country is committed to supporting the army in a variety of ways, given the vital tasks it performs.
