The exchange of fire between Israel and Hezbollah intensified late on Wednesday. One man was killed in the Israeli bombardment of the town of Beit Lif, and a team of first-aid workers from the Al Risala el-Islamiya (Hezbollah) scouts miraculously escaped when their ambulance was targeted in Blida.
In the late afternoon, the Israeli army intensively shelled the village of Kfar Kila with phosphorus and mortar shells, while sweeping the area with heavy machine guns.
Earlier, the Israeli air force launched raids on the area between the villages of Hadatha, Richaf and al-Tiri in the Bint Jbeil district, along with two air-to-ground missiles. The explosions caused a noise that echoed throughout the Tyre and Bint Jbeil regions.
Raids launched from Israeli drones targeted the outskirts of Yaroun and Maroun al-Ras. In addition, Israeli artillery fire targeted the outskirts of Tayr Harfa, Dhayra, Khiam, Aitaroun, Labbouneh, Yarine, Naqoura, Tallet Hamames, Wadi Hassan, Majdel Zoun and Aita al-Shaab. The Israeli army also reported raids on Hezbollah military infrastructure in southern Lebanon.
Earlier during the day, it reported that "shells from Lebanon landed in open areas near Manara and Kfar Yuval in the Upper Galilee, causing no injuries." In addition, a house caught fire in Metula.
For its part, Hezbollah announced that it attacked "spy equipment" at the Hanita site, as well as a Merkava tank at the Bayad Blida site. Hezbollah also said it targeted a building in which Israeli soldiers were stationed in the Metula settlement and several gatherings of Israeli soldiers in the al-Tayah settlement and near the Mitat barracks.
