The Lebanese delegation continued its participation in the nineteenth edition of the Asian Games, currently taking place in the Chinese city of Hangzhou. The players gave their all against the champions of Asia, under the supervision of the head of delegation and member of the Olympic Executive Committee, lawyer François Saade.

Here are the technical results recorded on Monday, September 25:

Judo: the two players, Ghadi Moussa and Aquilina Al Shayeb, lost respectively to China’s King Daga and South Korea’s Geong Kim, who qualified for the semi-finals. Thus, they exited the competition.

Taekwondo: Raphaël Koudsi (58 kg) won his first match against Qatari Yacoub Saeed by forfeit, then lost his second match against Kazakh Yeldos Issak by a score of 0-2, thus exiting the competition.

The program for Tuesday, September 26 includes several games:

Taekwondo: player Laeticia Aoun (57 kg) enters the competition in high spirits, reflecting her skill and technical know-how. She hopes to repeat her 2018 feat at the Asian Games in Indonesia, where she won bronze at the age of 17. Competing in China won’t be easy, as all the players are strong and experienced. She pointed out that she is competing in her current weight category (57 kg), an Olympic weight for the last 5 years, and her current ranking in Asia is third, which is a moral boost during the competition. Her task is not impossible.

She concluded by stressing the importance of the Hangzhou Games. She expressed her joy at carrying the Lebanese flag at the opening ceremony.

Also competing in the matches are Ralph Hneini (63 kg) and Mariella Bou Habib (53 kg) in taekwondo.
