Egypt is pressuring Hamas on Sunday, to accept the first phase of Biden’s ceasefire proposal according to The New Arab.

Hamas responded to the ceasefire proposal last week, declaring that it had made amendments, which Israel later deemed to drastic to accept.

According to an Egyptian source cited by The New Arab, Egypt and the US have been exerting pressure on Hamas to agree to the first phase of the deal.

Hezbollah have also reportedly urged Hamas to “deal flexibly” with the proposal, according to Al Sharq Al Awsat, on Saturday.

Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh said on Saturday that the groups response to the proposal is “consistent” with the principles set out by Joe Biden.
