Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa said that there is no reason to delay the return of diplomatic relations between the Kingdom and Iran, during a meeting on Thursday with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow, according to Bahrain News Agency.

He added that Manama looks forward to improving its relations with Tehran.

The King arrived in Moscow one day earlier for an official two-day visit.

His plane landed at one of Moscow’s airports, where a welcome ceremony was broadcast live on Russian television.

During the visit, the King planned to discuss a range of other issues, according to the Kremlin press service, including trade, the economy, energy, and developments in the Middle East.

The King last visited Russia in 2016.

In 2022, the Monarch declared his readiness to mediate negotiations between Moscow and Kyiv.
