Bahrain has recalled its ambassador from Israel and suspended its economic ties with Tel Aviv. In a statement, Bahrain’s Parliament specified that this decision is based on the Kingdom’s strong and historical stance supporting the Palestinian cause and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

Bahrain has also condemned “Israel’s ongoing military operations and escalation in disregard of international humanitarian law,” calling for further decisions and measures to protect the lives of civilians in Gaza and across Palestinian territories.

The Israeli Ambassador has left the country, and Bahraini authorities have recalled their ambassador from Israel.

Bahrain had established diplomatic relations with Israel as part of the 2020 Abraham Accords, brokered by the United States.

This decision comes one day after Jordan “immediately” recalled its ambassador to Israel in protest of the Israeli military offensive in the Gaza Strip.
