- The Rise of Lebanese Wine

Lebanon produces 12 million bottles of wine each year — an impressive figure for a small country, with nearly half exported to around 30 countries worldwide. This vibrant industry generates over $20 million in annual revenue, according to the National Institute of Vine and Wine (INVV).
Behind this success is steady, long-term growth: in 2000, Lebanon had only a handful of winemakers. Today, 45 producers are officially registered with the Ministries of Agriculture and Industry, as well as with the INVV, a mandatory step for any regulated wine production.
Lebanese wine is now earning its place on international markets, competing with iconic European labels like France and Spain, while drawing on a millennia-old legacy. As far back as Phoenician times, Lebanese vineyards stretched across the Mediterranean, and wine was exported to Egypt, Italy, and Greece over 3,000 years ago.
