Rising water from the Yamuna river reaches the walls of the Taj Mahal for the first time in 45 years as monsoon rains continue to lash northern India, triggering widespread flooding and landslides in the region. The 17th century mausoleum is situated on the southern banks of the Yamuna, with water levels in the river crossing 150 metres on Monday, the highest since 1978.
