The Beirut Marathon, originally scheduled for Sunday, November 10, 2024, has been officially postponed to an undetermined date due to recent developments in the security situation in Lebanon.
The organizing association held several meetings with its team members, partners and sponsors to assess the risks associated with hosting the event. Given the rising tensions in certain regions of the country, it was deemed more prudent to postpone the marathon to ensure the safety of participants, volunteers and the public.
This postponement also reflects solidarity with displaced individuals across Lebanon who are affected by the current crisis.
The association will continue to reassess the situation and maintain its administrative and logistical work in preparation for a future resumption of the event, while regularly informing local and international stakeholders.
