Lebanon is preparing to face Australia for the second time in a week, in a decisive match for the national football team. Scheduled for this Tuesday at 10:45 AM (Beirut time) at the Gio Stadium, the match is part of the fourth day of Asian qualifying matches for the 2026 World Cup and the 2027 Asian Cup.

Montenegrin coach Miodrag Radulović summed up the situation at a press conference on Monday. “We put in a good performance in our first match, but the result wasn’t up to scratch. Tomorrow we face another tough challenge, but we’ll strive to rectify our mistakes and be more incisive in attack. I expect a top performance, accompanied by a much better result.”

Radulović is considering tactical adjustments in preparation for facing an Australian team renowned for its toughness.

Team player Bassel Jradi added, “We knew what to expect. Australia are a strong, physical team. Having followed their performance at the World Cup against Denmark, I know how formidable they are.”

Comparing the 2018 match against Australia to last week’s, the coaching staff have been working intensely since the team’s arrival in Canberra to identify strengths and weaknesses, hoping to capitalize on the positives and improve performances. Despite multiple threats in the second half, Lebanon failed to score, stymied by the bad luck and efficiency of Australian goalkeeper Matthew Ryan.
