The Lebanese Basketball Federation signed a partnership with “BetArabia by Casino du Liban” on Friday afternoon at Antoine Choueiri’s basketball headquarters.

The signing was carried out by Akram Halabi, First Vice President of the Asian Federation and President of the Lebanese Federation, and Jad Gharios, Chairman of BetArabia’s Board of Directors.

Akram Halabi began his welcome speech by congratulating Beirut Club on winning the Men’s Arab Club Championship and extended his congratulations to club president Nadim Hakim, the management, and the players. He then announced the signing of the partnership between the Federation and BetArabia, which concerns the legal betting market. He added that “the company has obtained legitimacy, and as the Federation, we are against illegal betting that manipulates match results and is linked to the black market.”

For his part, Gharios spoke by saying, “We work to dedicate part of our revenues to support sports and social activities. Lebanese basketball is achieving outstanding results at the national team and club level. The men’s national team is progressing in the world rankings and is ranked first as an Arab team, and Beirut Club won the Arab Club Championship in its latest edition.”

In response to journalists’ questions, Halabi clarified that the partnership covers both men’s and women’s matches and has a one-year renewable term. Gharios also stressed that the cooperation could be extended to several other sports.
