A week ago, a wave of surprise shook the sports media when Qatari journalist Mabkhout al-Marri confidently announced that Neymar was on the verge of signing a contract with FC Barcelona in the coming days. Renowned for having been one of the first to reveal Lionel Messi’s transfer to Inter Miami, Marri relied on solid sources for this latest revelation. Speculation surrounding Neymar’s future seems to be taking a more concrete turn.

Five days after the Qatari journalist’s revelations, Paris SG announced that they were ready to release the Brazilian star from their squad. Official confirmation has been given of an agreement between Neymar and Paris SG. However, the precise destination was still up in the air. Rumors of Neymar’s return to Barcelona intensified in the wake of these developments.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano reported that Neymar was keen to return to the Catalan club that had seen him play so successfully in the past.

According to Fabrizio Romano, several clubs, including Saudi club Al Hilal and MLS clubs, are interested in signing Neymar Jr.

It is now well known that Barcelona is well informed about the terms of Neymar’s transfer, including his wage demands and other contractual details. However, despite recent advances, there is still a long way to go in the negotiations. The deal will ultimately depend on the willingness of FC Barcelona and Coach Xavi Hernandez to reintegrate the 31-year-old Brazilian player into their ranks.

FC Barcelona activated the economic lever this Friday, August 11, by selling 29.5% of the ownership of “Barca Vision” for 120 million euros, which will enable the club to officially register its players for the 2023/2024 season.

The final month of the mercato is full of surprises. Following Luis Enrique’s confirmation, Paris SG and the star of the French national team, Kylian Mbappe, will not be called up for the first match of the season against Lorient.

The Paris SG coach also mentions French striker Ousmane Dembélé, whom he considers to be a “99%” PSG player. Enrique adds that there are still a few details to be settled before finalizing the player’s transfer from FC Barcelona to Paris.

What other transfers are in store this mercato? Only time will tell.
