More than 30 rockets were launched on Monday morning from southern Lebanon towards the Galilee panhandle and Upper Galilee, and were intercepted by the Israelis.

The bombing was claimed by Hamas’ military wing, al-Qassam Brigades, operating in southern Lebanon in violation of UN Security Council Resolutions 1701 and 1559. In a statement, the group said that it targeted the headquarters of the Eastern Brigade 769 with a missile barrage.

In Lebanon, two Israeli rockets were launched towards the vicinity of the stadium in the town of Aita al-Shaab. Moreover, the outskirts of the towns of Alma al-Shaab and Naqoura were subjected to intermittent artillery shelling at dawn, coinciding with the firing of flares above the villages of the western and central sectors, reaching the outskirts of the towns of Zebqine, Yatar and Kafra.

Israeli warplanes also raided the towns of Tayr Harfa, Marwahin, Naqoura and Jabal Blat shortly before midnight, causing significant damage to property, crops, infrastructure and homes.

At midnight, Israel heavily raided the town of Aita al-Shaab in the central sector with the sound of explosions echoing throughout the South. Significant damage was inflicted to property and crops.

Israeli reconnaissance aircraft continued to fly over villages adjacent to the Blue Line, as heavy Israeli machine gun fire was unleashed towards fishing boats in the port of Naqoura.

On Sunday, the United Nations Interim Forces in South Lebanon (UNIFIL) expressed deep concern at the sharp increase in escalation on both sides of the Blue Line between Israel and Hezbollah.
