Saudi Ambassador to Lebanon Walid Bukhari stressed on Wednesday the importance of the efforts and initiatives undertaken by the Quintet Committee to assist Lebanon, in hopes that these efforts might lead to swift solutions through the dialogue conducted with everyone.
He emphasized during his meeting with the Grand Mufti of Lebanon, Sheikh Abdul Latif Derian, his country’s keenness on the stability of Lebanon and its support for enhancing unity and convergence among the Lebanese.
Derian also highlighted the cooperation with the Quintet Committee, which he claimed has offered many constructive proposals and ideas to reach solutions. He called on political forces to respond to their efforts.
“Any initiative proposed is supported by them as they are keen on Lebanon and the Lebanese,” he said, adding that “reform begins with the election of a president and the formation of a strong government. Otherwise, Lebanon will remain in chaos.”
