Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri has called for a plenary legislative session on Thursday, April 25th, at 11:00 AM. Two draft laws are under double urgency.
The first draft law, introduced by Jihad Al-Samad, seeks to extend the terms of municipal councils and mukhtars until May 31, 2025. The second aims to delineate the applicable laws for tenured Civil Defense volunteers. This text was jointly presented by Jihad Al-Samad, Ali Hassan Khalil, Ibrahim Kanaan, Amine Cherri, Toni Frangieh, and Hassan Mrad.
