A Southern MP revealed that Amal Movement combatants withdrew from the war on the border “after confrontations took an unacceptable turn.”

This MP explained to his visitors that this kind of confrontation leads to escalation and contributes to further igniting the war, which would increase the magnitude of the destruction and damage. Indeed, according to unofficial data, more than 15,000 houses in the South of the country have been either completely or partially destroyed.

Furthermore, southern residents started objecting to the war, demanding to live in peace, and prioritizing Lebanon’s interest over all other matters, considerations, interests, as well as other regional or international agendas.

Southerners started replacing their notorious slogan “We sacrifice for you, Sayyed” with “We want to live, Sayyed.”

In addition, close political circles to Hezbollah revealed that “following the escalation on the southern front in recent weeks, and amid increasing Israeli threats, the pro-Iranian formation has requested that all fighters (either from Amal or from other factions belonging to the Axis of Resistance), who are not well-trained, stay away from the front lines, as they might obstruct military operations and are not capable of protecting the border.”
