Tensions continued to escalate Thursday morning in southern Lebanon, where an Israeli drone strike targeted a motorcycle in the town of Deir Sirian, killing at least one person, according to preliminary reports.

The raid followed several hours of heightened security tensions in southern Lebanon. Airstrikes struck the villages of Ain Baal and Ansar, while a particularly heavy attack hit a building located between Abba and Ansar.

On Wednesday evening, Israeli warplanes carried out a strike in the Zrariyeh area, flying at very low altitude over southern Lebanon. Another airstrike targeted a residential apartment in the town of Haush, in the Tyre district, injuring at least four people, according to the National News Agency (NNA).

In a statement, the Israeli army confirmed the operations, saying it had targeted “terrorist infrastructure, weapons depots and a rocket launch platform” belonging to Hezbollah. Its spokesperson, Avichay Adraee, described the sites as “a violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon” and stressed that the Israeli army would “continue operations to eliminate any threat to the State of Israel.”

Earlier on Wednesday, an Israeli drone dropped a sound bomb near a drilling site in the border town of Mays al-Jabal. Shortly after, another drone crashed in the same area after attempting to strike a target.

In the afternoon, residents reported drones flying at low altitude over Zahrani, as well as Kfar Remmane, Al-Meydaneh, Debsheh, Jarmak and Mahmoudiyeh. Some of the aircraft were said to be operating silently, heightening fear among locals.
