The frequency and intensity of shelling traded by Hezbollah and the Israeli military on the Lebanon-Israel border exacerbate fears of an all-out confrontation.

Shortly after midnight, the Israeli artillery fired more than 20 shells of 155mm caliber on the outskirts of Yaroun in the Bint Jbeil district.

The National News Agency (NNA) reported that Israeli reconnaissance flights flew incessantly over the villages of the western and central sectors until Wednesday morning, reaching the outskirts of the city of Tyre. In parallel, Israel dropped flares throughout the night over the border villages adjacent to the Blue Line.

The Israeli army escalated its attacks on villages and residential areas in the South on Tuesday night, raiding the town of Kafra, resulting in several injuries.

Among the injured were the child Lynn Zaher Abbadi, her pregnant mother Mariam Atwi, and the boy Mohammad Zaher Abbadi, who were taken to the Governmental Hospital of Tibnin.

The raid also caused significant damage to properties and infrastructure, especially to the electricity and water networks. An Israeli warplane also raided a house in the town of Dhayra.

Hezbollah retaliated by firing several salvos of rockets on northern Israel, with at least 70 rockets hitting Kiryat Shmona and Avivim.

Israeli media confirmed the attack, without specifying whether there were any casualties. For its part, the Israeli army announced that it was “targeting Hezbollah structures in southern Lebanon, in retaliation.”

Additionally, a raid on the outskirts of Aita al-Shaab caused material damage to properties and crops, along with a raid on a house in Dhayra.

Earlier on Tuesday evening, Israeli aircraft conducted a series of mock raids over southern villages, breaking the sound barrier and releasing thermal balloons.

The army warned residents, in a statement, not to touch or approach the remains of the thermal balloons that fell near houses.
