The Israeli army carried out an intense aerial offensive on Tuesday afternoon targeting multiple locations in southern Lebanon, including one located deeper within Lebanese territory, near Saida, killing four people and injuring several others.
According to initial reports, a woman, a young boy and a child were killed in the raid on the village of Sawwana. Later, Hezbollah announced the death of the father, one of its fighters, Hassan Ali Najm, alias Jihad. Moreover, one civilian was killed and nine others were injured in a strike on the village of Aadchit.
The Israeli raids came in response to a barrage of more than twenty rockets fired in the morning at villages and at an Israeli military base in Galilee.
The bombing resulted in the death of one Israeli soldier, with eight others sustaining injuries. No group claimed responsibility for the attack.
Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported “an extensive Israeli aerial operation against Lebanon.” Israeli fighter jets conducted raids on the outskirts of Joun, in Iklim al-Kharroub near Saida, the region between Deir Kifa and Kfar Dounin, and the villages of Chehabiyeh, Aadchit, Baslia and Sawwana.

Reports said that the Israeli air force destroyed a three-story building and several other spots in Aadchit.
The bombing in Galilee occurred shortly after 9 AM. According to the Jerusalem Post, the Israeli army announced in a press release that “numerous launches were identified crossing from Lebanon into the areas of Netu’a, Manara, and an Israeli base in northern Israel.”
“This is not a trickle [of rockets], it’s war,” wrote the Israeli Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir on X following the attack. Gvir called for a radical change in how Israel manages the balance of forces on the Lebanese border.
