The exchange of fire continued on Saturday in the border villages of southern Lebanon after a tense night.
An air raid targeted a house in Yarin with a ground-to-air missile, leveling it completely. Injuries were reported, and rescue teams rushed to the scene.
Two Israeli raids also targeted the area between Yarin and Teir Harfa. The Israeli air force also carried out three air strikes on Mays al-Jabal.
Phosphorus shells were also dropped on Mays al-Jabal and Kfar Kila.
Other areas targeted by Israeli artillery bombardment included Mays al-Jabal, Tallet Hamames, Hamoul (east of Naqoura), Khiam, Kfar Kila, Aita al-Shaab, Beit Lif, Ramya, Alma al-Shaab, Dhaira, and Marwahin.
For its part, Hezbollah announced that it had targeted the settlement of Shtula in retaliation for Israeli attacks on homes and villages in southern Lebanon, most recently in Yarin on Saturday.
It also claimed responsibility for attacking Israeli positions in Birkat Risha, Assi, and Roueissat el-Alam, as well as the Pranit barracks, a Merkava tank in Metoula, and several gatherings of Israeli soldiers in Tallet el-Tayhat and the Hounin fortress.
In this context, the Israeli army reported that an anti-tank missile was fired at Western Galilee, and residents of Shtula, in the north of Galilee, reported a direct hit on a house.
For his part, the Israeli army’s Arabic-speaking spokesman, Avichay Adraee, announced that “fighter jets attacked and destroyed Hezbollah infrastructure in the area of Mays Al-Jabal and the village of Yaroun.” On his official account, he added that “several projectile firings were detected from Lebanon towards the north (of Israel), falling in open areas,” leading to “retaliation towards the sources of firing.”
On Friday night, heavy artillery bombardments targeted the outskirts of Naqoura, Jabal al-Labbouneh, Alma al-Shaab, Teir Harfa, and Dhaira.
Israeli surveillance aircraft overflew villages adjacent to the Blue Line in the western and central sectors, as far as the Litani River and Bint Jbeil.
Flares were also fired over the caza of Tyre, the sea coast, and the Blue Line.
The Israeli army also opened fire with heavy machine guns towards the outskirts of Dhaira and Al-Boustan.
The disaster management unit of the Union of Tyre Municipalities announced that the number of displaced persons registered with it had exceeded 23,000. In a statement issued on Saturday, the unit praised the work being carried out in collaboration with official authorities and international organizations to meet the needs of the displaced according to available resources and funding.
