Israeli bombardment resumed late Friday afternoon after a brief respite that coincided with the second speech in 48 hours by Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah.

On Friday evening, the Israeli army announced that it targeted Hezbollah cells in southern Lebanon. Israeli bombardment also targeted Hula, Bayad, Birkat Tayri and Wadi al-Jamal, as well as the outskirts of Yarine, Jebine and Rachaya al-Foukhar. Four missiles were dropped on Blida. Air raids were also carried out on the area between Shihine and Majdal Zoun.

Alarm sirens were also activated at the UNIFIL headquarters in Naqoura.

Hezbollah announced that it targeted the Birkat Risha position as well as a group of Israeli soldiers on the perimeter of the Dhayra position with Burkan-type missiles.

Commenting on the hostilities on the southern front, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant stressed on Friday that the Hebrew state prefers “a political solution to a military one, but when the time comes.”

“In the meantime, the Israeli army is carrying out excellent military action and leading painful strikes against Hezbollah,” he added.

On Friday morning, an Israeli raid targeted the locality of al-Hadb in Aita al-Shaab, with shrapnel hitting the Lebanese army position in the area. Further bombardment also targeted Aitaroun, Hula, and the outskirts of Yaroun, while raids were directed at Shihine and Majdal Zoun. At the same time, Israeli reconnaissance aircraft flew over villages in the western and central sectors, as far as the outskirts of the city of Tyre. Additionally, flares were fired at villages adjacent to the Blue Line.
