As signs increasingly point towards an Israeli military operation against Hezbollah, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reiterated his intent on returning evacuated Israelis back to their homes north of Israel.

“I’ve already said, we will return residents of the north safely to their homes,” he says. “And that is exactly what we will do.”

He made no mention of the explosions targeting Hezbollah in Lebanon during the past two days, which have been blamed on Israel.

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said that the war’s “centre of gravity” was moving to the north of Israel, where it has been engaging in daily clashes with Hezbollah.

“The centre of gravity is moving northward — resources are being allocated (to this front),” Gallant said while visiting an Israeli air base, according to a statement issued by his office.

“We are at the start of a new phase in the war — it requires courage, determination and perseverance on our part.”
