The association Journalists for Freedom has denounced the sharing, on social networks, of “a list of names of media professionals, academics and activists from various Arab countries, which, according to its propagators, has been taken from the Israeli security services.” “According to the authors of this campaign of accusations of treason, the people whose names appear on this list would collaborate with the Hebrew state,” reads a statement issued by Journalists for Freedom.
“This act undermines the elites of Arab countries because they freely express a different opinion,” the NGO continued. It considered that such an act should be “sanctioned under the laws” in force, and called on the relevant authorities in Arab countries to “investigate the matter and sanction those responsible” for this “fabricated” campaign.
