The calm that prevailed in southern Lebanon since the Gaza truce came into effect last Friday was shattered on Thursday by Hezbollah when it launched a drone into Israeli territory and fired rockets into northern Israel. This renewed tension came at a time when the truce was also being undermined in the West Bank, where two attacks were carried out, killing three Israelis. One was claimed by Hamas.

In the afternoon, the Israeli army fired 10 artillery shells on the outskirts of the towns of Marwahin and Jabal Blat, in the western sector of southern Lebanon. Five shells fell near a UNIFIL post in Marwahin and three in Jabal Blat, near the border town of Tarbikha, as well as inside Lebanese territory.

In the morning, the Israeli army had warned of the infiltration of a drone from Lebanon. Israeli military radio reported that warning sirens had sounded in the Upper Galilee. The Israeli army also announced that it had detonated two shells, using its system, over the outskirts of the border town of Rmeish.

It carried out a combing operation near Birkat Risha, opposite Marwahin.

Until early evening, intense overflights by Israeli military aircraft were recorded in the Nabatiyeh and Iqlim al-Tuffah areas.
