The Lebanese Forces (LF) stigmatized the campaigns led by Moumanaa axis (Iran-Hezbollah) supporters against those who oppose the opening of the southern front and involving Lebanon in the Israel-Hamas war against its wishes.

“We fully understand the tense climate created by the ongoing war in Gaza and the terrible images of the massacres suffered by the Palestinians. However, we cannot understand the accusatory speeches of treason and the unjustified attacks on the Maronite Church, the Lebanese Forces, the sovereign parties and personalities who want Lebanon to be kept out of the war and who call for the application of the Constitution and international resolutions, notably 1701,” said the LF information department in a statement.

In addition to these speeches, the LF denounced “the spreading of disinformation by certain media outlets that try to sow discord among the Lebanese in general and Christians and Sunnis in particular,” in reference to the rumors circulating around the murder of a young man from Chekka, Sleiman Sarkis, by a member of the Tallet el-Arab tribes following an altercation last October that had followed provocative acts by members of these tribes in Chekka.

“The Lebanese are familiar with this tactic, which was adopted by the Syrian regime to instill fear in others and thus block the way to national unity,” the LF recalled. They insisted that “the crisis in Lebanon is a national and political one, between two antinomic projects. We reject any attempt to portray the conflict as communal or sectarian,” said the party chaired by Samir Geagea.
