Southern Lebanon and its inhabitants continue to endure relentless bombardment from the Israeli army.

After a night punctuated by the sporadic firing of flares and shells of all kinds against several localities, the bombings increased in intensity in the morning.

The Israeli army bombarded the perimeter of numerous villages in the border strip, from the western sector, Mansouri, Majdel Zoun and Shaaytiya, to Shebaa further east, via Kfar Kila.

It also carried out a search operation in the surroundings of al-Boustan, near Birkat Risha, using heavy machine guns, while the Hamoul-Naqoura region was the subject of intense bombardment.

The body of a second victim was found on Wednesday morning under the rubble of the Khiam house, attacked by the Israelis two days earlier, and where an octogenarian had been killed.

Hezbollah announced for its part that it had attacked Israeli military positions on the site known as al-Raheb, bombarded by Bourkan, as well as Bayad Blida. In addition, an anti-tank missile was fired in the direction of Hanita, on the Lebanese border.

The pro-Iranian group reported casualties in the ranks of the Israelis and subsequently announced the death of one of its fighters, Mohammed Rabiha Aoudeh (Nasser), from the village of al-Khodor, without specifying where he was killed.

The Israelis, not content with responding to the sources of fire and bombarding the perimeter of several villages, are also attacking uninhabited wooded areas. The Israeli army, thus, launched numerous white phosphorus bombs on the forests adjacent to the Blue Line, notably in Alma al-Shaab, Labbouneh and Naqoura, as well as on the olive groves of Kfar Kila, where major fires broke out.

During the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, Israeli military planes attacked Khallet Hassan and Tayr Harfa, where houses were destroyed and damaged. Reconnaissance planes also flew over western and central southern Lebanon, and flares were launched into the skies of the region.

As Israeli attacks intensify in South Lebanon, so does the wave of displacement, according to statistics from the Disaster Risk Management Unit of the Union of Municipalities of Tyre, a challenge to which this unit is struggling to respond due to a lack of resources.
