Fadi Masri was elected President of the Beirut Bar Association with 1973 votes against 1950 for his rival Abdo Lahoud in the second round of elections for four members of the Bar Council and one President of the Bar Association. There were 136 blank ballots.

Mr Masri, backed by the Kataeb party, was able to benefit from the support he received from other parties, notably the PSP, against Mr Lahoud, backed by the Lebanese Forces.

The results of the first round of the Beirut Bar elections were as follows Labib Harfouche: 2264 votes, Abdo Lahoud: 2031 votes, Fadi Masri: 1929 votes, Elie Klimos: 1869 votes, Iskandar Elias: 1843 votes and Wajih Massaad: 1531 votes.

Alexandre Najjar, elected alternate member, received 1528 votes.
