The situation at the Lebanese southern border further deteriorated on Sunday afternoon. The town of Kfar Kila remains at the forefront as it is subjected to ongoing Israeli bombardment with phosphorus bombs.

The town of Kfar Kila has become a flashpoint of the conflict with civilians bearing the brunt of the violence. Israeli shelling targeted a civilian car traveling from Odaisseh to Kfar Kila, carrying Hussein al-Asmar and his mother, Sanaa Raslan. Fortunately, they escaped unharmed, thanks to prompt evacuation by the Red Cross.

Another civilian car belonging to a citizen of Rab al-Thalatheen driving on the Kfar Kila road was also bombed by Israel. Luckily, its owner and his son hid in a building unharmed and were later evacuated from the area through the Red Cross.

Heavy Israeli shelling with more than 50 shells was also reported in the heart of Kfar Kila, specifically on the roundabout, the area of al-Hariqah between houses and on the hills along the Fatima Gate Road towards Odaisseh, as well as on al-Owaida, from all axes of Kfar Kila. The town was also hit by phosphorus bombs.

Additionally, Israeli bombardments targeted the town of Mohaybib with artillery shells from the al-Bayad site. The Israeli enemy artillery has also shelled the outskirts of Labbouneh in Naqoura, as well as Alma al-Shaab and the outskirts of the towns of Tayr Harfa and Jebbayn in the western sector, with a number of heavy 155mm caliber shells.

These bombardments come as a retaliation to a series of attacks launched by Hezbollah against Israeli positions.

Two Bourkan (volcano) rockets and several mortar shells were launched by Hezbollah towards the position of an Israeli infantry force in a nearby grove close to the overlook site.

Up to this moment, Hezbollah has claimed responsibility for targeting several sites, including Dhayra, Jal al-Alam, al-Murj, Ramya, Hanita, Khallet Warde and Mtalleh.
