The “Change” Alliance delegation including North III Change MP Michel Douaihy, Takaddom MP Mark Daou, and Rami Fanj from the Intifada for Justice and Sovereignty group met on Thursday with Deputy Head of the European Union Mission in Lebanon Martin Huth and the Mission’s Political Affairs Officer Hanna Severin.
The Change delegation emphasized the need to activate and implement Resolution 1701 on the ground and support the Lebanese Army in carrying out its duties on the southern borders.
They stressed on the importance of the EU mission being fully prepared and ready to coordinate with the government emergency plan in support of the Lebanese people, especially considering the 30,000 displaced in need of support and assistance.
They also called on the European Union to endorse an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and support the two-state solution.
