The Caretaker Minister of Education, Abbas Al-Halabi, chaired a meeting on Tuesday to develop a plan aiming at ensuring the continuity of education in the event of a war escalation.

The Center for Educational Research and Development gave a detailed presentation of the “Mawaridi” platform, which was created during the coronavirus pandemic.

The platform includes digital educational resources and manages digital educational content adapted to the requirements of the Lebanese curriculum.

Hiam Iskandar, the Director of the Center for Educational Research and Development, who was present at the meeting, presented the plan prepared by the center.

She indicated that the platform contains lessons and materials useful for both students and teachers in preparing their courses. The resources were developed in collaboration with educational partners.

According to Iskandar, “these lessons have been approved by the Center after undergoing checks, reviews, and modifications by experts from the academic entity.”

The platform includes around 10,000 lessons and educational resources in Arabic, French, and English.

Additionally, an abbreviated program that can be adopted in situations of war or crisis was presented. Attendees at the meeting discussed in detail the different types of content and how to access them.

Halabi gave instructions to “develop a concise and accessible guide to the resources needed by learners at all levels.”
