A tense calm prevails in the Ain el-Hilweh camp, near Saida, which experienced escalating tensions following the assassination of Ahmed Diab, the brother of an Islamic activist, on Thursday evening.
The violence erupted in the Safsaf neighborhood. After heavy gunfire, the camp experienced a fragile calm, while some residents left Ain el-Hilweh to safer places, fearing a resumption of gunfire.
