The Canadian Embassy in Beirut advised against non-essential travel to Lebanon and against all travel to some areas in the south of the country.
In a statement released on Sunday, the Embassy warned that Canadian nationals should only travel to Lebanon if their travel is essential and warned them of the risk of being kidnapped. “We now advise against all travel to the area south of the Litani River,” the statement reads.
The Embassy also warned its nationals that “the situation is unpredictable and could deteriorate without warning.”
