Nearly 1,500 Syrians were arrested on the Lebanese-Syrian border over the past week during different days, according to the Lebanese Army.
In a statement, the Army warned citizens on Wednesday of the dangers of participating in smuggling activities as it exposes them to legal prosecution.
It also confirmed that it will intensify its efforts to apprehend those involved and hand them over to the relevant authorities.
