Caretaker Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr. Abbas al-Halabi announced in a statement the closure of public and private schools, high schools and vocational schools on Tuesday in districts bordering southern Lebanon.

“This decision comes in response to tensions in villages within these districts, driven by concerns about the safety of teachers, students and parents, God forbid,” the Minister stated.

Halabi also called for “continuous monitoring of the ministry’s updates to stay informed about field developments and ensure a smooth start to the academic year.”

The National News Agency reported earlier that due to the current situation, as a precautionary measure against potential risks, most schools in the Marjayoun and Bint Jbeil districts will be closed on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, there is a slight displacement of residents in the region, driven by the fear of an escalation by the Israeli enemy.
