Armed clashes broke out between Lebanese and Syrians outside the Al-Malek patisserie in Jdeideh El-Metn late Friday evening.

The army is currently deployed at the scene to contain the situation.

It should be recalled that this incident comes on the heels of an altercation that broke out on Thursday evening between Lebanese from the Baouchrieh region and a group of Syrian refugees near the Mar Maroun church. The scuffle was triggered by a road accident involving a motorcycle driver and the owner of a sewing workshop, who asked for help from his Syrian workers, leading to an escalation of the conflict and the need for the army’s intervention.
