Commenting on the “existential threat” caused by the increased Syrian migration to Lebanon, Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea called on the caretaker government to take the appropriate measures.

In a statement issued on Monday, Geagea said that “the Free Patriotic Movement, along with its allies, constitute not only the grand majority of the government but rather the caretaker government in its entirety.”

“So why doesn’t this government convene and give clear executive orders to all security agencies to enforce the Lebanese laws in their entirety?” Geagea asked.

He emphasized that “following this step diligently and seriously by the relevant ministers, specifically the ministers of Interior, Defense, and Justice, is the only way to remove this existential threat from Lebanon, whereas statements and political exploitation only deepen the crisis.”
