Lebanon will be present at the World Tourism Day organized by Saudi Arabia on September 27 and 28 in Riyadh.

Representing Lebanon, Caretaker Minister of Tourism Walid Nassar will give a speech on “Lebanon’s vision” for the tourism sector and its role in the Arab and global environment.

Saudi Arabia, which will host the event for the first time, is bringing together over 500 leaders and experts from 120 countries. They will spend two days discussing strategies for developing the global tourism sector.

The importance of the event is reflected both in the quality of the international figures taking part and in the nature of the activities planned. This will be one of the largest World Tourism Day events since the event was instituted in 1980.

According to the United Nations, the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) is emphasizing “the need for more and better-targeted investments to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals for 2023 (set by the UN) — the 2030 Agenda Roadmap for sustainable development.”

Furthermore, Lebanon’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Fawzi Kabbara, will organize a meeting, including a number of Saudi and international tourism players, during which Nassar will present the prospects for tourism development in Lebanon.
