Nearly one thousand Syrians were arrested over the past week, according to the Lebanese Army. The Army’s Directorate announced on Thursday that these Syrians had tried to illegally enter Lebanon through the Lebanese-Syrian border.
Furthermore, the Army Command said on its personal account on the X platform that an army unit succeeded in foiling an operation to smuggle goods from Lebanon to Syria at the northern border on Wednesday evening. The smugglers fired at the soldiers, who returned fire, wounding one of them. The smuggler was taken to the hospital, where he soon succumbed to his injuries.
