While the summer season is meant to be festive in Lebanon, this year it has been synonymous with recurring cases of food poisoning. Many hospitals in the country have reported a massive influx of patients the past two months. On average, they have been twice as likely to visit the emergency room for stomach problems compared to the rest of the year.

The main culprits: poorly stored food. While doctors advise avoiding restaurants, the restaurant syndicate is calling on consumers to be more responsible.
