Mount Lebanon’s Investigative Judge Rania Yahfoufi issued the indictment regarding the “Garderêve” daycare center case on Tuesday. Videos of infants being mistreated by the staff of this establishment were shared on social networks in July, provoking widespread outrage all over the country.

The document accuses Jenny Bechara Khoury, the employee who was seen beating the children in the videos, of crime.

Joumana Bou Said, the cleaning lady who took the videos six months before posting them, was released, considering the nature of her offense and the length of her detention. The application for the release of Tony Tony Mhanna, owner of the daycare center, was rejected by the judge, according to the indictment. Mhanna was charged with a misdemeanor.

Judge Rania Yahfoufi directed the trial of the accused before the Mount Lebanon Criminal Court, with recovery of costs.
