The president of the Syndicate of Travel and Tourism Agents, Jean Abboud, revealed on Monday that the significant momentum of incoming visitors to Lebanon is still going strong to this day.

“Air traffic at Rafic Hariri International Airport is between 130 to 135 flights daily,” he said.

Abboud forecast that the high number of incoming visitors will continue until mid-September.

He said that visitors from East European countries are expected in September and October. “Daily delegations from countries such as Croatia, Slovenia, and others will be coming to Lebanon. People from these nationalities did not visit Lebanon previously, and therefore their arrival is very positive and will provide strong support for the tourism sector and the national economy,” he added.

According to Abboud, the number of arrivals is estimated at 700,000 approximately, “a figure that Lebanon has not recorded for many years.”

Abboud estimated that the number of incoming visitors to Lebanon from early June until the end of September would be around two million people.

He also stated that “the percentage of Arab and foreign tourists among the incoming visitors ranged between 35% and 38%.”
