The investigating judge in North Lebanon, Samaranda Nassar, filed a complaint on Wednesday, August 2, against Hayat Toufic al-Rezz, the maternal grandmother of Lynn Taleb, after new clues came to light in the case.

Judge Nassar scheduled the questioning for this Thursday and expected to continue hearing other witnesses in the case.

Taleb died at the beginning of July at the age of five following repeated rapes. The little girl had spent eight days at her maternal grandparents’ home with her mother following her parents’ divorce. Two separate medical reports stated that the little girl had been sexually assaulted before she died.

Both the mother and maternal grandfather were arrested three weeks after the girl’s death.
