The leader of a human trafficking network operating between Lebanon, South America, and Europe was apprehended on Friday July 21.

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division released an official statement highlighting their joint efforts with INTERPOL Madrid to combat organized crime and expose the trafficking network. The Lebanese connection, identified as A. A. (also known as “Al-Nabulsi”), confessed to smuggling multiple individuals from Lebanon to Europe through South America, charging 10,000 US dollars per person.

The investigation is currently being studied by appropriate judicial authorities. Sixty incriminating documents of smuggled individuals were seized as evidence.
